Consequently, do you know their credentials? Many people don’t realize that there’s a Difference Between Realtors and Real Estate Agents.

Difference Between Realtors and Real Estate Agents
We know that real estate professionals go to real estate school, study, and must pass an exam. Additionally, they must pass licensing exams in the state they wish to work.
Therefore, if you live in Ohio, you typically cannot hire a professional who is licensed in Ohio to help with your home purchase in Florida. Unless, however, they are also licensed in Florida.
Also, the title of “Real Estate Agent” is considered a starting point.
The Next Step
A Real Estate Agent who takes “the next step” in their real estate career earns the title of “Realtor.”
A Realtor is a Real Estate Agent who is a member of the “National Association of Realtors.”
Why is that a big deal? It’s because Realtors must abide by the standards and strict code of ethics of the association. Real estate agents can become members of the National Associations of Realtors (NAR) after becoming a member of a local real estate board.
Finally, the term Realtor is a registered trademark. Additionally, Realtors must belong to both a local association or board and also a state association.
